Catch Up

It's been awhile since my last post so I'll try to do a little catch up. We moved into our house on the 15th of November and have been loving every minute of it. We enjoy roller blading and excercising in the basement, relaxing in the jet tub, and playing with toys in the play room. We especially like parties. For Thanksgiving we had 28 people in our house with room to spare.

Breanna, Arriah, and Aidan performed for us after dinner with these skits:

The First Thanksgiving

Virginia

The day after Thanksgiving Lyndon, Jovana, and I went go-karting at this place in Redmond. It was really really fun, but way too expensive.

This week was full of a lot of emotions. A friend of mine (Eric Marchant) lost his wife to a tragic car accident, leaving behind five children. We went to the funeral yesterday. Though I didn't know his wife very well the combination of feelings for what Eric and his family must be going through and the sharp memories of Evan's funeral that hers brought to me left me crying my eyes out pretty much the entire time.

Our spirits were lifted later that evening though, because I took Bridget out for her birthday dinner. Unbeknownst to her I had been planning a surprise party for her with Jovana for the last couple weeks. Besides getting back from dinner a bit later than planned, everything went better than I could have hoped for. She had no idea until she walked in the house and turned on the lights and everybody yelled, "Surprise!"

This weekend was very packed. Here's the run down on what I did.

Friday, after work, I went straight to the cannery where I got 16 boxes (six cans per box) of food storage. This time we got beans, sugar, rice, flour, carrots, onions, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. Hopefully that is enough to keep us stalked for awhile. I didn't get home until after 10 p.m.

On Saturday I got up at 4:15 a.m. to go to the 6:30 a.m. temple session. When I got home I mowed and trimmed the lawn while the rest of the family washed the cars. When that was done we went to Bellevue for our niece's birthday party at Chucky Cheese. After the party we brought the kids home and Bridget and I went back to Bellevue (for my third time that day) for an art auction. We didn't buy anything, but it was fun going...mostly because of the free steak dinner they gave us.

Today I went to church, came home and immediately went out home teaching. After coming home, eating lunch, and taking a nap, I went back to the church to work on membership record stuff. It should be nice going back to work tomorrow so I can get a rest.

I'll post pics later when Bridget can tell me where the camara is :o)

Evan's Birthday

Here's a two minute video of Evan's first birthday.

The cool thing is I really wanted Evan to walk by the time he turned one. Of course he's not exactly walking, but it's cool that I was able to capture his first steps on camera. The day before he kind of shuffled one foot half way in front of the other, so that may have been his "first" step, but the ones on this video are much better :)

Time for Vacation

We just dropped off all our kids at various places for the week. Let the vacation begin! For my birthday Bridget surprised me with a California/Mexican cruise. She even corresponded with my boss at work to schedule my vacation days without me knowing. I should probably get packing now. Cheers!
