Catch Up

It's been awhile since my last post so I'll try to do a little catch up. We moved into our house on the 15th of November and have been loving every minute of it. We enjoy roller blading and excercising in the basement, relaxing in the jet tub, and playing with toys in the play room. We especially like parties. For Thanksgiving we had 28 people in our house with room to spare.

Breanna, Arriah, and Aidan performed for us after dinner with these skits:

The First Thanksgiving

Virginia

The day after Thanksgiving Lyndon, Jovana, and I went go-karting at this place in Redmond. It was really really fun, but way too expensive.

This week was full of a lot of emotions. A friend of mine (Eric Marchant) lost his wife to a tragic car accident, leaving behind five children. We went to the funeral yesterday. Though I didn't know his wife very well the combination of feelings for what Eric and his family must be going through and the sharp memories of Evan's funeral that hers brought to me left me crying my eyes out pretty much the entire time.

Our spirits were lifted later that evening though, because I took Bridget out for her birthday dinner. Unbeknownst to her I had been planning a surprise party for her with Jovana for the last couple weeks. Besides getting back from dinner a bit later than planned, everything went better than I could have hoped for. She had no idea until she walked in the house and turned on the lights and everybody yelled, "Surprise!"

The Split Decision

The idea for this movie came to me a couple months ago in the shower. I had finished with the shower and then stepped out to grab a towel. I then got back in and dried myself off. When I opened the shower door for the second time, I looked down and saw a wet foot print on the floor mat. My initial thought, upon seeing the foot print, was, "Whose is that?" Of course it didn't take more than a split second to realize it was my own, but the concept got me thinking and eventually led to the creation of this movie. We started filming last week, and we premiered it at the ward talent show Saturday night.

The Board Room

This is a video I made yesterday with the help of our exchange student Jovana. The concept was hers and she helped get everybody in their places. She tried to help Graeden with his lines, but as much as he seemed to want to be in the movie he just wouldn't say his lines. Finally we got frustrated with him and called it a wrap. Since Graeden was obviously frustrated too I talked to him alone and found out that he was embarrassed saying his lines with Jovana in the room, so the two of us went back to work and he did a great job repeating back all the lines he had to say.

Enjoy!

Disappearing Kids

Here's a video I made of my kids walking through the wall. I probably could have made it a bit better if I worked with the kids more on the speed they approach the wall, but you know what they say in Hollywood, "Never work with children or animals." There is also a little bonus feature of Jovana at the end. Graeden is pronouncing her name correctly for one of the first times ever.
