As some of you may know Evan passed away this morning. He was 15 months old and the youngest of our four boys. I'm sure many have questions as to what happened and I am so thankful for all of your offers of help and condolences. We have felt very loved in this difficult time. For those of you that don't know what happened I'll relay the story chronologically here.
Last night Bridget, Jovana, Graeden, and Evan went out to dinner with some friends. They got home around 9:45 p.m. Graeden went up to bed, but Evan came and sat down next to me on the couch while I was watching T.V. He put his little arm around my neck and just sat there for about five minutes. It was such a beautiful moment to have had with him as he is usually very wiggly and won't stay in one spot for more than a few seconds. At about 10 p.m. I put him to bed. I was a bit sad because he was just so happy and putting him down on our bed to go to sleep just wasn't in his agenda. Nevertheless, just after 11 p.m., when I was ready to go to sleep, I moved him from my bed into his room to sleep on his bed.
This morning, after I had gotten ready for work, I went to make sure all the kids were ok, and couldn't find Evan. I went down stairs where Elliott was and asked if he had seen him. He said Evan was in mommy's room. Nope, not there. After searching the whole house I finally looked under our 60 lbs. plus love sack bean bag. There he was in the middle of the floor. He had been completely covered by the bean bag. He was unresponsive when I picked him up, so I gave him a blessing and we took him to the hospital. When we got there he wasn't breathing and his heart was stopped. The doctors gave him CPR and worked on him for about 40 minutes with no success. He was pronounced dead at about 9 a.m.
Many family members were quick to arrive and offer support at the hospital. Our phone hasn't stopped ringing with people offering their love and our e-mail boxes have been full of messages from people expressing their sympathy. Graeden (our 4, almost 5, year old) was sad and once he understood what happened he sat on my lap and wept. It was very touching. Elliott (3) has mentioned that he wants to see Evan again, but doesn't fully comprehend what's happened yet. Jett (2) has provided us with some comic relief.
Evan, we love you and will miss you so much. Rest in peace little buddy...till we meet again.

Hi Tymon and family,
I don't know if you remember me, but I am so so sorry to hear of this event. I am weeping for you right now. I can't imagine what you must be going through. I'll be praying for you and your family that you can get through this hard time. I know little Evan is in a better place, though I know you only want him in your arms. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Timon & Bridget,
You were the first people we met in the ward when we moved in. You both were and continue to be such loving, wonderful people. We're so sorry for your loss. Your account of the last night you had with him brought me to tears. Heather and I are both thinking about you and keeping you in our prayers. Let us know if there's anything we can do.
With sad hearts,
Eric & Heather
Tymon and family,
Rebecca, Jeff Hamm's sister here. Just want to let you know that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Such a sad, sad thing to hear. I heard of your story through my sister-in-law, Jenny Willis who attends church in your building. Your family is in our prayers. We know tomorrow will be difficult for you, but my our Heavenly Father give you comfort in your time of need and grief. All our prayers & Love.
You don't know me, I am Chelsea Tonk's sister. She mentioned your story so I wanted to find out a little more. You story answered my questions, and I want to say I am so sorry and also Thank you. We too have a 15 month old baby (
girl) and a 60 lb plus love sac. I never could imagine something like this could happen. Your story will help us better watch our childern and could possible save other childrens lives. I know it is hard to loose someone so close, my brother in law passed nearly 1 year ago, I can't imagine if it was my baby. God bless you, and our prayers will be with you.
